The crew of the USS Voyager "We're alone in an uncharted part of the galaxy, we've already made some friends and some enemies, we have no idea of the dangers we're going to face but one thing is clear, both crews are going to have to work together if we're to survive.  That's why commander Chakotay and I have agreed that this should be one crew a Starfleet crew and as the only Starfleet vessel assigned to the Delta quadrant, we'll continue to follow our directive, to seek out new worlds and explore space, but our primary goal is clear.  Even at maximum speeds it would take 75 years to reach the Federation, but I'm not willing to settle for that, there's another entity out there like the Caretaker, who has the ability to get us there a lot faster.  We'll be looking for her and we'll be looking for worm holes, spatial rifts or new technologies to help us, somewhere along this journey, we'll find our way home.  Mr. Paris, set a course, for home."
-Captain Janeway, "Caretaker II".

Star Trek Voyager is the fourth series based on Gene Rodenberry's creation of Star Trek, the original series.  Set in the Delta Quadrant during the time when the Maquis were first defying the treaty between the Federation and the Cardassians.  As there is a battle between a Cardassian ship and a Maquis ship near the bad lands, with Chakotay (Robert Beltran), B'Elanna Torres (Roxann Dawson), Tuvok (Tim Russ) and some other Maquis crewmen, the Maquis ship is sent into the Delta Quadrant by an entity called the Caretaker.  Soon The Kazonafter, The USS Voyager is sent to apprehend the Maquis because Voyager is the only Starfleet vessel that can fly in the bad lands.  Tom Paris (Robert Duncan McNeill) was called in by Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) to fly Voyager in the badlands because he was the only Starfleet officer that could do it.  As they reached the bad lands, a wave hit them and that was what sent the over 75,000 light years from where they were, into the Delta Quadrant.  Killing over half the crew, including the doctor and all of the nurses.  Starfleet installed an emergency medical holographic program (Robert Picardo), so they were forced to use it for the rest of the journey.  When they reached they also met Neelix (Ethan Philips) who showed them the way to the Okompa home world where the Caretaker was sending his energy so that the Okompan people could survive, but they lived underground away from the Kazon who wanted to steal all of their resources.  Neelix took them to a group of Kazon on the Okompa home world, so that they could show them how to get underground, the Kazon couldn't, but Kes (Jennifer Lein) could, because she was an Okompan who escaped from the underworld.

Eventually, the crew got underground and saved Harry Kim (Garette Wang) and B'Elanna Torres, who got sent to the Okompan people after they got a deadly disease from the experiments the Caretaker did to them.  Later the Caretaker died, the reason why he brought the two crews to the Delta quadrant was because he needed some one to replace him after he died.  The caretaker was one of many explorers and scientists who came to this galaxy to explore and conduct scientific experiments, but an accident happened and the Okompa couldn't survive on their own.  Two of them stayed and kept the life going, one of them left and this one stayed, when he died, the Kazon wanted to take all his technology, but Janeway had to destroy it all to keep the balance of power in the sector, to follow the prime directive but to also destroy their way home.  Later in the episode "Equinox I&II", Voyager finds another Federation star ship in the8472 Delta quadrant, that the Caretaker sent.

On the way, Voyager met many different races, the Vadians, the Kazon, the Krenim, the Hirogen, the Borg and species 8472.  As they met the Borg, species 8472 were trying to destroy them, but not only were they trying to destroy the Borg, but they were trying to destroy everything in the galaxy.  Voyager then joined forces to force species 8472 back into their space, in that same episode "Scorpion I&II", Seven Of Nine (Jeri Ryan) came aboard Voyager as an honorary member of the crew and as a former Borg she is now an individual adapting to her new life.  Later, came the time altering Krenim "The Year Of Hell I&II", who used time machines to deny existence to their enemies.  The Hirogen are hunters who hunt down their prey to kill them and eat them (Yummy!!).  For more information on the different aliens, crew members, the ship and episode guides use the menu on the left.
